Can email marketing be done in 2019?
No. Absolutely not.
That is… if you are using the same systems, methods, and strategies you were using a few years ago. If you haven’t evolved as a marketer, then definitely not. Email marketing will not work for you.
…if you are using up-to-date methods, systems, and strategies, using bulk email programs, the right autoresponders, attractive websites, and social media, then you will separate yourself from 98% of all marketers.
Let Me Give You Some Tips
I have prepared a step-by-step manual that will walk you through what is working in email marketing, how to do it, what tools you need, and how to write effective emails. You can find a link for that below.
But, before you download the manual, let me share with you 3 Tips that are not in the manual… something you can only read about here.
Tip #1 – Always Be Moving
I mention in the manual that you need to be using your own server for email marketing. No more shared hosting, web-based autoresponder crap. But, here is something you may want to write in the margin that I did not include:
The best, most successful email marketers do not stay on the same server, nor use the same domain name for very long. It is a fact that over time, your deliverability rates will begin to decline. This is because some ISP’s may begin to block your IP address or your domain.
You can either deny it, blame the leads, or face up to reality. It will cost you about $15 to change to a new server and get a new domain. I would plan on doing this when you see your deliverability rates show a consistent decline. It may be 6-9 months, give or take a bit… maybe longer. Just know you will need to move around a bit to stay cutting edge.
Tip #2 – Integrate Social Media
First off… don’t be afraid of social media. I didn’t even allude to this in the manual. Big tip here. When prospects land on your page, you must realize that they do not know you and most likely do not trust you. So how do you establish trust within 10-15 seconds?
Integrate social media on your landing page or squeeze page. Include a link to your Twitter, Instagram, or Facebook Fan page (if you don’t have at least one of these, now is the time to do so). Include the social media logos on your squeeze page. Those symbols are recognized, will let the visitor know you are a real person, and can help establish trust.
The best, most successful marketers are doing this. They report increased conversions by including these logos and links to their social media accounts. Think about Pinterest, Linkedin, or others. It lets prospects know you’re connected.
Tip #3 – Don’t Be Afraid To Ask For Help
I am not the world’s expert on email marketing. But, I know those who are. Get connected with the experts and learn from them. What kinds of emails are they writing? Are they sending plain text emails or using HTML?
Ask the owners of the bulk email company. Most likely, they are heavily into email marketing themselves and can offer you incredible advice.
It’s like going to a marina and asking where the fish are biting. The owner of the marina fishes all the time and talks to all the people who fish out of his marina. He knows lots of secrets about how and where to catch fish.
The owners of these bulk emailing companies are gold mines of tips and advice. Tap into that.
